When in weight paint mode selected mesh becomes blue, clicking on certain areas will change the color. Clicking the same area will change the color again, until it turns red then the color won't change any more.

Have made another creation in blender by activating the edit mode by pressing tab and pulling vertices, in a way that it looks like what I want it to. For this one I created to forms, the head and body then combined them into a single form. For this I pressed b then draw a square around what you want to combine, then press ctrl+j and press join.
